Cookie Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
1.What this policy covers
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Browsers also offer local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way. This policy explains what the websites of ExtraQube Systems keep in your browser and why. We use no advertising cookies.
Systems we run for other organisations follow that organisation's own notice; you can find them in the Legal Center.
2.extraqube.com
This website sets no cookies. Its visit counter, described in the next section, saves one random ID in your browser's local storage.
3.Visit statistics
We count visits with Rybbit, which we host ourselves. For each page view it records the page, the time, your browser and device type, and an approximate location (city and region) worked out from your IP address. It does not store the IP address itself and does not record your screen.
To recognise a returning visitor, Rybbit keeps a short code computed from your IP address and browser type. While your IP address and browser stay the same, the code is the same on all of our websites listed below and from one day to the next, and clearing your browser does not reset it. Rybbit's script also saves a random ID in local storage, but it does not send that ID with your visits.
Our websites that count visits this way:
- ExtraQube Store
- extraqube.com website
- Interest quiz (quiz-web)
- Qube Book
- Qube Flow project tracker
- Qube Scan file scanner
- Qube Slides
- Qube Vote
- Road to CE lessons
- Road to Roblox camp
4.Services you sign in to
Signing in needs the session cookies below. The preference cookies are saved when you change a setting.
4.1Client portal (portal.extraqube.app, portal-dpu.extraqube.app)
- A cookie that lasts 5 minutes while you sign in through ExtraQube SSO, to protect the sign-in.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in. It ends 12 hours after you sign in.
- Two cookies that remember your language and your menu layout, for one year.
- Your light or dark theme choice, kept in local storage.
- For ExtraQube staff only: a cookie that lasts 10 minutes while they confirm an approval.
4.2ExtraQube SSO (id.extraqube.app)
- A session cookie (
authentik_session), set when you open the sign-in page, that keeps you signed in to our single sign-on. - An ID for the browser tab, kept in session storage while the tab is open.
- Apps that sit behind our single sign-on (for example Qube Scan) set a sign-in cookie of their own, for up to 8 hours.
4.3Other apps
Our other apps may keep your settings in local storage (for example the slide deck you opened in Qube Slides). Apps that ask you to sign in keep your sign-in in a cookie or in browser storage.
5.Cloudflare
Traffic to our websites passes through Cloudflare. Cloudflare asks your browser to report connection errors to it for up to 7 days (Network Error Logging). If it needs to check that a visitor is a person, it may also set a short-lived security cookie of its own.
6.Your choices
You can remove what a website keeps by clearing its site data in your browser settings. Blocking site data on extraqube.com may stop the visit count; nothing else on the site depends on it. Blocking cookies on a service you sign in to will stop the sign-in from working. The visit code described in section 3 is not kept in your browser, so clearing it does not change that code; to ask about it, contact us.
